Hello September.

I love September.

It signals for me the end of summer and the start of wintry adentures. Richard thinks I am mad as I start talking about  Christmas themes! It was a busy August spent in Morocco as my  base to travel to Germany and The Netherlands. Read my posts on the places I visited and do do let me know what you think. I really would love to hear from you about places you visited and liked.

Some of my highlights this summer included, weirdly the ferry crossing  from the Hook of Holland  to Harwich.  I was really impressed with the overall experience. We had booked an outside berth  for the 7 hour day crossing as it gave us our personal space. It was pretty impressive with hug eportholes and ensuite shower  and TV.

We had a reasonable lunch, good service then when to the Cinema  on board to watch Mama Mia  is super comfy chairs. Overall the experience was an unexpected pleasant surprise with very smooth boarding Andre disembarking with our Car  which sadly was our last journey before it leaves us for a new owner.

Another highlight was Nuremberg and The Hague. Both cities were a sheer delight and places I would definitely  go again. One of my favourite highlights  was the steam train  ride from  Wernigerode  to Brocken through the forests to the peak.

The Canal  trips in  Delft and in Girthoorn  were just so memorable and experiences I will cherish. Seeing The Girl with the earring by Vermeer was also an incredible experience. I loved seeing  young gods of 6 being given a fun guided tour of all the incredible art.

I have always enjoyed eating in Germany as they do casual cuisines pretty well. The food really was pretty good in most of the places we went to. Just plain food beautifully cooked.

September is another busy month. We are off to Portugal a country I have so grown to love and we are hoping after a 2 year search that we will find a property to buy.

Wish us luck on our hunt and let me know where you have travelled and places you think are great.

Bye for now.
